In addition, we regularily use their kennel facility when travelling and the attention to detail here really is something special. Chaperone K9 have been truly wonderful for us as a family. We rescued our Frenchie... read more (Bonnie) when she was 1 year old. She was fine with people (if a little too excitable!!!) but reacted to every single dog we walked by. Walks were traumatic, no fun at all. We quickly decided we needed a trainer. The first trainer we used felt like her methods were very slow and dragged on with very little progress being made. We tried a new trainer who helped a bit but still didn't achieve what we wanted. We didn't want the earth. We just wanted to enjoy walks with our dog, her not to pull on the lead and not to lunge at every dog she ever saw. My dream was also to sit in a cafe with Bonnie and me enjoy a coffee whilst she relaxed. We didn't think we were asking too much but with two failed trainers we started to doubt we would ever get what we wanted. We were then recommended Chaperone K9 on a Frenchie forum. I called them and arranged a meeting to assess Bonnie. I was advised that she could definitely be trained and the recommendation was a two week residential. We agreed and it was the best thing we ever did for us and Bonnie. As soon as we picked her up after the residential we could tell how much calmer and relaxed she was. This was because the trainers took the lead, not her, so she just had to enjoy the training and walks. Bonnie absolutely adored Paige who led the training. Bonnie is food orientated so training followed that method. On collection we as a family were all guided on how to handle Bonnie and the equipment supplied. We left feeling optimistic but also nervous that Bonnie would do it for them but not us. Initially we were nervous and struggled a little bit but we got support via WhatsApp whenever we needed it. We did a follow up session in our village. We stuck to the village only and worked hard on the basics every day. We then felt ready to go to Fosse Meadows so arranged for Paige to join us there to train us. Since going to Fosse Meadows we have been on holiday and taken Bonnie with us for the first time. She enhanced our holiday and enjoyed walks on the beach, sitting in a cafe and going crabbing with us. Without Chaperone K9 we couldn't have achieved this. We are now in training to take her to the pub!!! Thank you so much Chaperone K9. We cant recommend you highly enough. We now enjoy Bonnie time and love having her in our life.

My Husband and I rescued our first puppy from the RSPCA- not knowing what his... read more breeds were. We later DNA tested him and found out he is a malinois x presca canrio. Both very difficult breeds for first time owners and he was considerably larger than we thought he’d be. We were out of our depth and made many innocent mistakes which lead to him becoming extremely reactive to people and dogs and well anything that moved. It got so bad I was unable to walk him and due to my anxiety surrounding him we were looking at re-homing him. A friend of ours recommended Chaperone K9 so we gave it a last ditch attempt. H is 3.5yr old boy who spent all but 5 months of his life in... read more a kennel block so whilst incredibly loving, there are / were behaviours that we needed to work on; reactivity toward other dogs, overly rowdy, and challenging / resource guarding toys or objects and mouthing. We reached out to Chaperone K9 feeling a bit unstuck we had an initial call. From the first call, we felt supported and were given advice on what we could try at home whilst he was still decompressing and booked in a few months down the road for our first 1:1. By the time we left our 1:1 H was on a different lead and walking differently already. We put it into practice at home and what a difference from being dragged down the road. Fast forward a follow up 1:1, and most recently H’s 2 week residential. I was initially apprehensive of the residential given H’s background (a life in kennels) but Sarah and Keeley were great at keeping us updated with videos and photos, and shared how H was doing. We could see how much H was improving, daily (!!) from the updates. Walking to heel, a lot more relaxed in the presence of other dogs (which was a big issue), responding quickly to corrections. We absolutely loved his updates. Picking up H today, it was wonderful to see the bond he’d built with Sarah and Rich, he was a really happy boy and it cemented the confirmation I myself needed that he’d had a great 2 weeks, learning and working hard. My hand over was educational, but anytime spent with Sarah is. Both Sarah and Rich made a lot of things make sense today (the Aha moment kind of sense) and the black & white instructions aren’t complicated, they’re simple but super impactful. Absolutely thrilled we booked H in with Chaperone K9, he is already a different boy to 8 months ago, much calmer and less overzealous, totally different dog on a walk. Their advice on how to walk him, how to create opportunities in the day to train him, correction & rewarding, and how this notion of excessive exercise is not needed have all been instrumental in teaching us how to help H be a happier boy. So pleased we found Chaperone K9 and even more pleased to have the support with our and H’s journey. The journey continues with our upcoming 1:1 and a week long session a little later in the year.
