Senior Dog Trainer

Kurt Harrison joined the Chaperone K9 team as a Senior Trainer, bringing with him over 13 years of experience working with dogs across both military and civilian environments.

Before joining CK9, Kurt worked as a Senior Trainer, focusing on obedience and protection dog training. Specialising in the training and development of family protection dogs. His role focuses on producing reliable, balanced dogs with high levels of obedience, control, and clarity in protection work, whilst ensuring they transition smoothly into family life.

Kurt is passionate about unlocking each dog’s full potential and enjoys the challenge that comes with every individual dog having different drives, motivators, and personalities. For him, seeing a dog progress from puppyhood into a highly trained, dependable family protection dog is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.

Alongside his hands-on experience, Kurt holds multiple military working dog qualifications, including protection handling, explosive search dog handling, high assurance search dog handling, and IED detection dog handling. He also has further qualifications in animal husbandry, operational trauma care, and canine first aid.

Kurt’s knowledge, professionalism, and passion for dog training make him a valuable part of the CK9 team.
